1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Pastetory ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Pastetory is a clipboard synchronisation service that allows you to share text, images, and files across your own devices via a web browser. The Service is provided on a freemium basis with optional paid tiers.

3. Accounts

• You must sign in using a supported third-party identity provider (Google, GitHub, GitLab, or Discord).
• You are responsible for all activity under your account.
• You must not share your account credentials or vault passphrase with others.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Store, transmit, or share illegal content
• Distribute malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or systems
• Use automated tools to abuse the Service beyond normal usage patterns

5. Storage Limits & Tiers

• Free (Croissantetory): 50 MB storage, ad-supported
• Cornish Pastetory: 300 MB storage, ad-free
• Bear Claw: 1 GB storage, ad-free

If you exceed your storage limit, you will be unable to upload new files or images until you delete existing content or upgrade your plan.

6. Encryption & Privacy

• Vault-encrypted content is encrypted client-side before transmission. We cannot access or recover vault-encrypted data.
• If you lose your vault passphrase, your encrypted data is permanently inaccessible.
• Unencrypted snippets are stored on our servers and may be accessed for operational purposes (e.g. debugging, abuse prevention).

7. Data Retention

• Your data is retained for as long as your account is active.
• Burst Snippets are automatically deleted 10 days after creation.
• We reserve the right to delete accounts inactive for more than 12 months, with 30 days' email notice.

8. Payment & Subscriptions

• Paid plans are billed monthly or annually as selected.
• You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period.
• Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods.

9. Service Availability

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee 100% uptime. The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for data loss, downtime, or any damages arising from use of the Service.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pastetory and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of data, revenue, or profits.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via the Service or email.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
